While you are visiting the Lake Norman area, choose a hotel, or bring your RV or tent and stay at Lake Norman State Park. And, if you live in the area, and want to get away without traveling very far, head out to Lake Norman. Daveste‘ Vineyards

Daveste‘ Vineyards is located at 155 Lytton Farm Road in Troutman. Sample several wines. Crackers are available between color changes to clean the palate. You may also taste craft beers. You could even bring a picnic to eat in the vineyard’s picnic area. Enjoy views of the pond and waterfall. Daveste‘ Vineyards is dog friendly.

JR Motorsports

This museum is located at 349 Cayuga Drive in Mooresville. JR Motorsports isn’t just for race fans. If you like NASCAR just a little bit, you’ll enjoy spending time here. During racing season, you’ll be able to look through a glass wall into the garage where the teams work on their cars. You’ll see Jr.’s radio booth and his Wrangler car. And, you can get some great deals on race wear.

Penske Racing South Facility

See some excellent views of the working shop and garage area of the Penske Racing South Facility. Indy merchandise may also be available. See what goes on behind the scenes at NASCAR. You might even get to meet a driver or two! The facility is located at 200 Penske Way in Mooresville.

Jetton Park

This park is located at 19000 Jetton Road in Cornelius. Jetton Park is located on a cove at the southern end of Lake Norman. Enjoy lots of shade, water views, walking trails, picnic areas with grills, tennis courts and more.

Oak Street Mill Antiques

This antique shop is located at 19725 Oak Street in Cornelius. Find rare and vintage items at Oak Street Mill Antiques. They have a large selection of antiques. Even if you’re not planning on buying anything, the shop is a great place to walk through. Each vendor has his or her own booth.

North Harbor Club Restaurant and Bar

This restaurant features world-class dining and is located at 100-D North Harbor Place in Davidson. Enjoy looking out at the waterfront while you are dining. They use only fresh ingredients. And, if you are out on the lake and get hungry, pull in at a complimentary slip available to restaurant patrons. We are located in the Davidson Creek area of the lake at Marker T4.

Menu items include stuffed chicken, Tilapia, tuna, beef, salmon, pork chops, catfish and filet mignon dinners. Try their hand-picked coastal crab cakes with fried green tomato, pickled pepper and onion salad and chipotle tartar.

Port City Club

Another good restaurant in the area, Port City Club is located at 18665 Harborside Drive in Cornelius. The restaurant is 13,500 square feet, and every room has a lake view. Enjoy a covered deck that is fully enclosed and heated, so you even get the impression of eating outside during the cooler months.

Menu items include pasta dishes, Parmesan dishes, marsala dishes, filet mignon, ribeye, rack of lamb, pork chops, chicken dishes, scallops and shrimp, salmon, blue crab and more.
